This year’s Grammy-winning Adam Wakeman project “Jazz Sabbath” will perform in Lithuania!

The Jazz’n’Vilnius concert series presents:

  • “I really like this.” (Ozzy Osbourne)
  • “Surprisingly brilliant.” (Jazz Journal)
  • “Heavy metal has never been this cool.” (MetalTalk)
  • “Absolutely wonderful.” (Jazzwise)
  • “A stunning performance.” (Metal Injection)
  • “Wonderful interpretations.” (Tony Iommi, founder of Black Sabbath)

These are just a few short quotes about Jazz Sabbath – a British jazz trio which, according to its fictional backstory, was supposedly formed in the late 1960s. The band was created by keyboardist and guitarist Adam Wakeman, who toured with Black Sabbath (2004–2017, 2025) and as a member of Ozzy Osbourne’s solo band (2004–2025). Jazz Sabbath performs jazz arrangements of songs by their fellow countrymen Black Sabbath, while claiming to be the original authors of these compositions and accusing Black Sabbath of plagiarism. One can only admire such bold and sarcastic audacity! Their only concert in Lithuania will take place on January 16, 2027 (Saturday), at St. Catherine’s Church in Vilnius.

Whether or not you choose to believe this wild fictional origin story, with three albums reaching high positions on the Billboard jazz charts, sold-out concerts around the world, and enthusiastic reviews from both jazz and rock media, Jazz Sabbath is rapidly making its way to the top of the jazz scene. Or perhaps, according to the fictional story, they are simply returning after several decades?

This year, Jazz Sabbath pianist and band leader Adam Wakeman, together with singer Yungblud, Extreme guitarist Nuno Bettencourt, Anthrax bassist Frank Bello, and masked Sleep Token drummer II, won the 2026 Grammy Award for Best Rock Performance for their rendition of “Changes” at the famous Back to the Beginning concert in Birmingham in July 2025.

Adam played keyboards and guitar both in Ozzy Osbourne’s solo band and with Black Sabbath from 2004 onward, performing with both groups at Ozzy’s final concert, making his tenure with these godfathers of heavy music span an impressive 21 years. In September 2025, A. Wakeman also appeared at the MTV Music Awards tribute ceremony honoring Ozzy Osbourne, alongside Yungblud, Nuno Bettencourt, and Aerosmith members Steven Tyler and Joe Perry.

Since 2020, Jazz Sabbath has released three studio albums, all of which reached high positions on the Billboard jazz album charts. Their music has accumulated millions of views and streams across various platforms, and all three albums were also released as special Record Store Day mono editions, which sold out within days. Since 2022, they have performed at major international jazz festivals and toured worldwide. Almost all 29 dates of their 2025 European tour sold out in advance.

This project explores the boundaries between jazz and the songs that helped define the heavy metal genre, revisiting existing jazz riffs while discovering new ones. A live Jazz Sabbath performance is an energetic, fully captivating concert experience for jazz fans, rock fans, and everyone in between.
