Jurga's cult album "Aukso pieva" celebrates its anniversary

Today, one of the most famous Lithuanian popular music albums, “Aukso pieva”, celebrates its twentieth anniversary. Jurga Šeduikytė’s debut and most successful album, produced by Andrius Mamontovas and released by the music company M.P.3, has sold a total of 25,000 CD and vinyl copies and is constantly mentioned among the most influential Lithuanian music publications.
The album won the “Radiocentra” and “Bravo” awards for album of the year. It contains Jurga’s most famous songs – “Nebijok” and “Aukso pieva”. Also other famous works are “Laisvė” (with Eurika Masyte), “Saulė vandeny”, “Galbūt”, “Aš esu tiktai jei tu esi”, “Ilgiusia diena”.
That's not all - at the "Radiocentra" awards, the song of the year award went to the song "Nebijok", and at the "Bravo" awards, this work was awarded the awards for debut of the year (Jurga) and producer of the year (Andrius Mamontovas).
“Aukso pieva is a direction and a gentle promise for me, a feeling that everything is always good, and I have to learn to see it,” says Jurga.
Throughout its history, the album “Aukso pieva” has also been released on a CD with sheet music and chords, and in 2020 a double vinyl record with studio and concert versions of all songs was released. Among the lesser-known facts, “Aukso pieva” (along with “lemon joy” album “1210” and Andrius Mamontovas’ “Saldi. Juoda. Naktis”) is the first Lithuanian album on digital music platforms, where it was released back in July 2006.
“Listeners still can’t get enough of the songs from “Aukso pieva”, they are still relevant today, and the music itself hasn’t aged, it’s just as cozy, sonorous, and draws you into its magical world,” says Vaidas Stackevičius, the head of the M.P.3 company that released the album.
On October 23, Jurga will celebrate the anniversary of “Aukso pieva” with her special concert at the “Žalgiris” arena in Kaunas, and the online store “Buymusic.lt” will offer a 20% discount on Jurga’s records and merchandise with the code “Auksopieva20” all this week until midnight on Sunday.
