February 27 marks a special occasion for M.P.3 Music Agency—it’s their 23rd anniversary! This year, the celebration is bigger than ever, as it coincides with the Music Hall at the Vilnius Book Fair, where the majority of Lithuania’s music industry gathers. And unlike traditional birthdays, M.P.3 itself is the one bringing the gifts.
“M.P.3 has always been about making things better here and now, so when the 23rd birthday suddenly arrives, even we are a little surprised,” smiles agency director Vaidas Stackevičius, who has spent nearly half his life building this “baby.”
Blowing out the candles, he admits that daily achievements don’t always come to mind—it’s only when someone asks to “count the successes” that he truly reflects on how much has been accomplished.
“An open ticketing platform without commission fees—Shownet.lt. A popular music store—Buymusic.lt. This week, we also launched a new website, mp3agency.lt, introducing our agency’s work. The company has released nearly 200 music productions. The latest releases—‘Lemon Joy’s’ Mylėt tave taip beprotiška ir keista and ‘Atika’s’ Šalin rankas nuo rokenrolo, mama!—are now available on vinyl and digital platforms. In January, we also released Anties-40: Geriausios dainos, a double vinyl celebrating the legendary band’s 40th anniversary,” Stackevičius shares during the Music Hall event.
Since 2002, M.P.3-represented artists have won over 100 music awards across Lithuania and internationally, including in Germany, Sweden, Hungary, the U.S., and China. The agency has successfully executed more than 4,000 publishing and concert projects. Their upcoming events include concerts by The Game in Vilnius and Riga, Scorpions in Riga, and Antikvariniai Kašpirovskio Dantys’ Lithuanian tour.
Freshly Pressed Vinyl Releases
As in previous years, M.P.3 and its online store Buymusic.lt will have their own dedicated stand at the Litexpo event, turning it into a four-day celebration hub filled with birthday cheers, well wishes, and, of course, music. This year, Buymusic.lt is introducing three new vinyl releases.
One of the highlights is a double vinyl record celebrating the 40th anniversary of “Antis”, already a sought-after collector’s item. The album features the band’s biggest hits, including Pokštas, Alyvos, Zombiai, Lietuvos valstybė, Nauji metai, and many more crowd favorites. Available in two colors—classic black and bold red, the vinyl is a first-of-its-kind release for the legendary band.
“Antis has never had such a beautifully produced album before. And that’s not all—so many of our best songs on one release is something we’ve never done before either!” says the band’s frontman, Algirdas Kaušpėdas.
Another standout release is “Atika’s” vinyl album Šalin rankas nuo rokenrolo, mama! with its bold, eye-catching cover.
“The band’s first vinyl, Himnai ir vėliavos, sold out quickly and is no longer available. So, together with the musicians, we decided to re-release another record. Šalin rankas nuo rokenrolo, mama! is like a ‘lost’ album. Originally released in 2006, the CD edition has long been out of print, and it never appeared on streaming platforms. The album has now been remastered and is finally available on both vinyl and digital platforms,” explains Stackevičius.
One of the most anticipated releases for fans of “Lemon Joy” is the vinyl edition of Mylėt tave taip beprotiškai ir keista (2025 Remaster).
“We continue our mission to release the entire ‘Lemon Joy’ catalog on vinyl, and the time has finally come for their iconic album Mylėt tave taip beprotiškai ir keista. The album is available on classic black vinyl, but we also have a special limited-edition glow-in-the-dark vinyl release—only 100 copies worldwide—which includes a 7-inch single featuring remixes by Jovani and Danell Arma,” teases Stackevičius.
Despite being a small but fearless and ambitious agency, M.P.3 has big plans—at least for another 23 years to come.
“I remember when we registered the agency, the winter was much colder than it is now. But for me, that time was full of meaning—spring was just around the corner, and we launched our first projects with that same optimistic energy. Our very first event took place on March 7, 2002, when we organized the opening of the ‘Cosmic Bowling’ hall with a concert by the band ‘Kosmo.’ By the end of that same March, M.P.3 had become Andrius Mamontovas’ management agency, a collaboration that lasted for five years,” recalls Stackevičius.
Over 23 years, M.P.3 has become one of the most successful and longest-running music agencies in the Baltic region. Last year, the company launched Shownet.lt, a commission-free ticketing platform open to all. Currently, the agency represents Antikvariniai Kašpirovskio Dantys, Biplan, Lemon Joy, Algirdas Kaušpėdas, and his collaboration project with Viktoras Diawara—KAnDIs.
