“Antikvariniai Kašpirovskio dantys” Embark on a Journey Through Lithuanian Cultures: Meeting Song Heroes and Even a Local Bermuda Triangle

2025.02.04 10:23

While some musicians are taking over major arenas, “Antikvariniai Kašpirovskio dantys” are setting off on a lively tour through Lithuania’s smaller towns and their Cultural Centers. Their journey, which begins on February 14, will eventually conclude in the capital – with the final stop set for April 12 at “Vakaris” Concert Hall in Vilnius.

"This time, instead of you coming to us, we are coming to you. We want to get to know different Lithuanian cultures even better, compare the differences, and reunite with those we haven’t seen in a long time," say the band members as they practice their dance steps and pack their instruments and costumes for the tour.

Each of them has both personal and musical memories from their travels across Lithuania. Alytus, where the band will perform on February 15, holds special significance. According to drummer Karolis Steponavičius, their song about Stasys from Alytus was born out of real longing for a friend who left to seek a better life abroad. Though told in a humorous style, the song’s message remains just as relevant today.

Antikvariniai Kašpirovskio dantys – “Oi tu, Stasy, Stasy, tu sugrįžki į Alytų!”

According to lead vocalist and guitarist Martynas Enčius, Mažeikiai, where the band will perform on February 14, evokes mystical feelings for him.

"I barely remember my last visit there. To me, Mažeikiai feels like a kind of Bermuda Triangle, where time stops, and even GPS navigation gets lost. But maybe that’s exactly why so much inspiration comes from here?" he muses.

"Invite your neighbors and all the Valentinas, iron your best clothes, shine your high heels, and come to an “Antikvariniai Kašpirovskio dantys” session!" the band members encourage.
"Fireworks are ready. Sound is checked. We might still tune the guitar, and then – get ready! A band that has traveled the world is coming to Mažeikiai with a time-tested show. We promise you’ll hear ‘Į Venesuelą,’ ‘Mangus,’ ‘Mažulė,’ and ‘Daug dienų,’ but the most exciting part is that we’ll also perform brand-new, never-before-heard songs."

Over their long and colorful career, “Antikvariniai Kašpirovskio dantys” have performed almost everywhere. During this tour, when they take the stages in Telšiai, Vilkaviškis, Šiauliai, Tauragė, and Plungė, they will be sure to share their funniest, sometimes almost unbelievable, tour stories with the audience.

When asked about the band's current state of mind, drummer Karolis Steponavičius emphasizes that for them, making music is also a journey.

"Sometimes we walk on broad highways, and sometimes we wade through forest trails. Emotions are like the weather along the way – the sun shines most of the time, but we also appreciate the melancholy rain. It's not just about the destination but the mood of the journey."

The band also hints at exciting upcoming news.

"One big project is currently being discussed in whispers. If all goes well, you’ll hear about it in the fall," they tease.

Moreover, the band members continue writing new songs and exploring new musical directions.

"Not every day brings another ‘Venesuela’ or ‘Mažulė,’ but we keep going because we’re curious about what’s waiting around the next corner," they add, encouraging fans to follow the latest news on their official website.
