Germany’s Camouflage are among the most prominent representatives of the synthpop genre, standing alongside such music legends as Depeche Mode, Erasure, Pet Shop Boys, a-ha, OMD, and others. Hugely popular in Lithuania, the band has a large fan base here and will be visiting the country for the fifth time. Camouflage first performed in Lithuania back in 2004.
The songs that brought the band the greatest fame—“Love Is a Shield” and “The Great Commandment”—have long since become pop classics. Other singles such as “Strangers Thoughts,” “Heaven (I Want You),” “Me and You,” and “I Can’t Feel You” also gained widespread popularity. The band’s most notable albums include Voices & Images (1988), Methods of Silence (1989), and Sensor (2003).
Recently, reissues of Camouflage’s albums have enjoyed renewed success. The album Spice Crackers, originally released in 1995, returned to the German charts last December for its 30th anniversary, reaching No. 37. Meanwhile, the 1994 album Bodega Bohemia climbed to No. 10 in Germany in 2024. Even greater success was achieved by the compilation Rewind to the Future and Goodbye, which reached No. 8 on the German albums chart in 2024.
