KAnDIs Revives "Antis" Masterpiece and Announces Live Show

The duo "KAnDIs" has breathed new life into the classic "Antis" hit "Kontrolierė" and invites everyone to an exclusive festive gathering. On the penultimate day of 2026, "Antis" legend Algirdas Kaušpėdas and innovative creator Viktoras Diawara will host a concert at the capital’s music club "Tamsta". "KAnDIs" promises to surprise the audience with a special performance featuring both their solo tracks and brand-new versions of "Antis" songs. Tickets for the "KAnDIs" concert are available via "Shownet.lt".

The tandem of two Lithuanian music icons, A. Kaušpėdas and V. Diawara, is distinguished by creative freedom, shows radiating exceptional energy, and an ability to captivate the crowd. At the "Tamsta" music club, the audience will hear not only the duo's best hits but also legendary "Antis" tracks like "Alio, alio", "Zombiai", "Klasėj mane kalbina", "Pokštas", "Alyvos", and many others. This concert is also set to feature the presentation of a book about "Antis" published in France this year.

The concert will also feature the band's latest single, "Kontrolierė". "KAnDIs" performed the updated version of the song live for the first time this year at the Baltic culture and extreme music festival "Kilkim žaibu". On that occasion, the performance by "KAnDIs" was one of the highlights and became the grand finale of this year's festival. Yesterday, on September 16th, the duo put on a show at Vilnius FK "Žalgiris" home stadium, where a record-breaking crowd of nearly 6.5 thousand spectators gathered to watch the match.

"This song is perhaps from 1985, its lyrics were written by the poet Evaldas Morkūnas. Back then, I was looking for interesting texts, and he handed me his poetry notebook. The text intrigued me immensely, and its musical arrangement was created by Petras Ubartas," recalled Algirdas Kaušpėdas. "The song is about love and, at the same time, about fear. Simultaneously, the words are ironic. You could say it is a transformation of fear, which paralyzes a person, into love, which sets them free."

The song "Kontrolierė" was originally released on the 1988 "Antis" album "Ša!", which was reissued a few years ago as a joint effort by the music companies "Zona" and "M.P.3". This track is also included in another collaborative vinyl release by both agencies, titled "Antis-40: Geriausios dainos".
