Biplan Celebrates 30 Years with a Bang: Marks 30th Anniversary by Turning the Stage Into a House

2026.04.14 17:36

One of Lithuania's longest-running bands, Biplan, invited fans to an anniversary concert over the weekend. A crowd of loyal followers gathered at the sold-out Compensa concert hall in Vilnius for the "Biplan 30" performance.
The audience went wild for hits like "Labas rytas," "Kino filmai," "Amore," "O mes prie jūros," "Anzelmutė," and many other well-known songs. There was no shortage of surprises—after the show, the musicians signed autographs and took photos with fans.
"The 30th-anniversary concert was a success! We feel like we're on cloud nine seeing how many of you came, sang along, and cheered! We say a huge THANK YOU to all of you! It was incredibly good!" the band posted on social media after the show, teasing another special announcement coming soon.
A home on stage
The musicians invited fans into the festive concert as if welcoming them into their own home. A special stage set was designed to resemble a living space. In a cozy armchair, one of Lithuania's most famous jazz trumpeters, Valerijus Ramoška, sat browsing magazines before later joining the band for their songs. The impressive stage accommodated not only the band but also numerous guests from the "Fainuolių choras".
The group kicked off the concert with their latest song, "Nepamiršk manęs," from their recently released studio album Viskas kaip patinka tau. Although it is one of Biplan's newest tracks, the thousands of fans in attendance sang the chorus together. The energy continued to climb with well-known hits like "Plius/Minus (Viskas bus gerai)," "Sapnų gaudyklė (Hey ya ho)," "Viskas kaip patinka tau," "Jūros gilumos akių mergaitė," and others.
Rarely heard songs returned to the setlist
During the nearly two-and-a-half-hour concert, the band performed songs that hadn't been heard live in years. Major surprises included tracks like "Sapnas," "Pusvalandis," "Sexodromai," and "1005 B," which returned after breaks of a decade or more. A particularly rare treat was "Open Your Eyes" from their 1997 debut album Banzai, which hadn't been played since the nineties.
Special surprises prepared
The Biplan 30th birthday celebration was full of unique moments. Lead singer Maksas Melmanas performed several songs acoustically, accompanied only by keyboards played by Andrius Savčenko, the son of Biplan’s bassist Seržas. The audience also heard a fresh rendition of one of the band's biggest hits, "Labas rytas," performed alongside the social-musical project "Fainuolių choras."
One of the band's most famous songs, "Kino filmai 2015," was performed twice, serving as the triumphant final chord during the encore. After the show, the musicians spent a long time interacting with fans who were in no rush to leave, signing autographs and taking pictures.
